Taking full instructions on the marriage, separation and personal details of both parties and any children; explaining the legal process and the court procedure; preparing the application for divorce and liaising with you as to its contents; arranging for signing, filing and service of the application; liaising with the other party and the court as required; finalising the matter after the order is made and the certificate of divorce is issued by the court; including all other necessary attendances and communications.
The scope of work covered by our retainer is confined to the divorce and not additional work, for instance financial settlement. If the work on the matter exceeds the normal reasonable bounds there will be additional charges.
Please note that in circumstances where the divorce is not proceeding, we will render an account for work completed.
